The government of Telangana has been proudly hosting the prestigious Miss World competition this year. However, the pageant landed in controversy as Miss England 2024, Milla Magee, decided to opt out of the competition. She stated that she decided to quit the show as she felt like she was being subjected to exploitation.
Milla Magee stated that the competition was still stuck in the past, and morally, she couldn’t be a part of it. She said she “felt like a prostitute” and was “farmed out for entertainment” by the competition organisers. She went on to add that she took a stand for herself after being forced to parade in front of wealthy male businessmen and sponsors. She became the first Miss England winner in the pageant’s 74-year history.
Reportedly, Milla Magee exited the competition on May 16. She became the first Miss England winner to exit the competition in the pageant’s 74-year history. She has now been replaced by Miss England 2024 runner-up Charlotte Grant. She flew down to Hyderabad as well. The mega final of Miss World 2025 will be held on May 31.
