Beware: Active Covid Cases Touch 3,300 Mark in India

A couple of years ago, Covid was so rampant in India that there were thousands of new infections and deaths almost every day. Incidentally, there appears to be a minor resurgence now, as active Covid cases are on the rise again.

The number of active Covid cases in the country has touched the 3,300 mark. As expected, the list is topped by Kerala, which accounts for nearly two-thirds of the total cases in the country.

Kerala has 1,336 active cases, followed by Maharashtra with 467, Delhi with 375, Gujarat with 265, Karnataka with 234, West Bengal with 205, Tamil Nadu with 185, and Uttar Pradesh with 117.

Notably, in the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, there aren’t many active cases yet. However, that doesn’t mean people should let their guard down.

There is no need for panic or extreme measures at the moment, but people are advised to remain cautious and maintain good hygiene. Given that the majority of the population is vaccinated, the situation may not escalate significantly this time around.
