The latest edition of Asia Cup tournament officially started a couple of days ago, and it hit a new peak with the game between India and the United Arab Emirates last night.
It was a completely one-sided affair where India completed the match in just 4 overs which must be some sort of a record in major international tournaments.
Coming to the topic now, if we get to the analytical side, it really needs to be held that the Asia Cup tournament is pretty much sealed in favour of India already.
It was always expected that India is going to be the strongest team in the tournament, and it would be an absolute cake for the men in blue. The only doubt was going to be about how the Indian layers would acclimate to the conditions in UAE.
But it appears that India is absolutely on the top of their game, and this was on display in the game against UAE, where the bowling and batting fired outrageously well.
The Indian bowlers managed to bundle out UAE for a very low score of 57 runs and this was quickly chased down by the Indian opening, batting pair of Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill. In the end, India completed the game within 30 balls. This is the heights of dominance that India can show in major tournaments and the same was evident last night.
If this is the kind of consistency and a sharp efforts that India can put up in the upcoming games, then the Asia Cup tournament is pretty much done and dusted in favour of the men in blue. This could get consolidated further based on the way India plays in the upcoming game against Pakistan on September 14.
