The government of Andhra Pradesh and its top leadership have been repeatedly emphasising on the need for women welfare. Chief minister Chandrababu and deputy CM Kalyan have been making it very clear that they will not tolerate any misdeeds against women.
This was put to display when Andhra Pradesh Police were prompted to be action after a horrifying video of a husband brutally attacking his wife went viral on social media.
In this gruesome video that went right on social media, a man is seen brutally assaulting his wife with a belt, tying her hands while the victim cries out in pain. After this video went viral, there was a huge public outbreak and people started to prompt the government to take significant action in this regard.
In response to an incident where Balaji, the husband, attacked his wife Gurunatham Bhagyalakshmi from the ST colony of Kalujuvvalapadu village in Tarlupadu mandal, the district SP Harshavardhan Raju responded immediately.
Upon receiving the information, Darshi DSP Lakshminarayana got on the ground and met the victim, and promptly transported her to the hospital. Subsequently, a case was registered on this matter, and two individuals were arrested.
It is reported that the couple married approximately 12 years ago, have two sons and two daughters, and Bhagyalakshmi works at a bakery in Kalujuvvalapadu village.
Her husband Balaji is said to have a habit of drinking alcohol and was suspicious of the marital life with Gurunatham Bhagyalakshmi. On 13 September, around 09:30 PM, while Bhagyalakshmi was returning home after finishing work at the bakery, her husband Balaji, along with his family members, intercepted her on the way.
They then took her home, tied her hands, and beat her on the back with a belt, as well as with their hands and feet.
Someone captured this video and share it on social media, where it went viral instantly and grabbed the attention of the concerned social media folk.
