Escalator Off! Is Trump Troubled at UN Meet?

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, is generally never short of controversial incidents. The same was observed during his appearance at the United Nations meeting last night, as a couple of unusual incidents grabbed attention.

First, while Trump and his wife Melania were approaching the venue, the escalator stopped working. Surprisingly, the escalator, which had been functioning perfectly until then, immediately stopped after Trump and his wife stepped on it.

However, Trump and his wife had no other option but to climb the escalator manually. The fact that the US president, who holds the most powerful and secure position in the world, faced such a situation with the escalator is certainly unusual.

Then came another incident while Trump was addressing the audience. The teleprompter, which was supposed to display verbal cues to him during his speech, stopped working shortly after he began.

Trump had to proceed to speak on his own without the teleprompter. He even joked about the situation, saying: “Well, the teleprompter is not working now, but that doesn’t stop me from speaking my heart. But the person who is operating the teleprompter is going to be in a lot of trouble.”

While these two incidents became the focal point of several discussions, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called for an investigation after the UN escalator shut off as President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump stepped on.

“If someone at the UN intentionally stopped the escalator as the President and First Lady were stepping on, they need to be fired and investigated immediately,” she said. She expressed a similar opinion regarding the teleprompter malfunction.
