Having dealt with marketing various products ranging from petroleum to vegetables, Reliance Industries has forayed into the drinking water business.
Reliance Industries’ SURE packaged mineral drinking water has been launched in the market, for as low as Rs 5 a 250 ml bottle. When compared to Bisleri, Aquafina, and Kinley water bottle’s price, Reliance has priced it 20-30% less.
Manufactured by the Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), SURE water is purified through reverse osmosis, UV treatment and also using modern technology. To blend taste and health benefits, all the minerals are added to the water. The water is packaged in eco-friendly PET bottles to meet office, home, travel and other daily needs.
Coming to the variants and price
250 ml small bottle: Rs 5 (Entry-level)
500 ml medium size bottle: Rs 10 (For travel)
1 litre bottle: Rs 20 (For office purpose)
20 lt can: Rs 80 (for household/bulk refill option)
The bottles would be made available in Reliance outlets — Jio Mart and Reliance Smart, as introductory offer.
When compared to Bisleri small bottle priced at Rs 7, SURE water bottle is priced 20-30% less at Rs 5.
Kinley medium bottle is priced at Rs 13 while SURE costs Rs 10, 20-30% less than Kinley.
Aquafina Big bottle costs Rs 25 while SURE big bottle costs Rs 20.
The refill (20 litre can) is priced at Rs 80 providing bulk savings when compared to other branded water.
The packaged drinking water was launched on February 22, 2025 along with RCPL’s new bottling facility in Guwahati. The bottling unit has been established in partnership with the local Jerikho Foods and Beverages LLP, in 6 lakh sft premises. Two high-speed lines have been installed in the plant, one with 583 BPM to produce 18 crore litres water in a year, and another with 600 BPM for carbonated soft drinks, to produce Campa variants, including Campa Cola, Campa Orange, Campa Lemon, Power Up Energy drinks.
Bisleri, a company valued at Rs 30,000-crore, holds 25% share in the country’s packaged water business in the market. SURE Water is targeting to capture 5-10% share in the drinking water market by FY 2026.
