Usually during the festival seasons, we observe a lot of traffic movement at the Hyderabad and Vijayawada Highway and the same is turning out to be the case this time around as well.
Thanks to the long weekend prospect that came up due to the timing of the Christmas and New Year, software employees and other corporate jobs have ensured elongated leaves. Subsequently, a large section of the city population is moving to their homes in Andhra Pradesh.
Reportedly, there are several stretches across the Hyderabad and Vijayawada Highway that have reported traffic congestion and slow movement due to the unusually heavy outward commute from the city.
A similar situation is going to repeat in another couple of weeks as Sankranti is fast approaching and the culture of going from Hyderabad to hometowns in Andhra Pradesh is bound to be relapsing.
