The recent violence against the Hindu community in Bangladesh has been a major cause of concern across India, and this has started to have political repercussions now.
Incidentally, this repercussion has reached even Cricket fraternity as the BCCI has reportedly asked Kolkata franchise to leave Mustafizur Rahman from the squad for the upcoming IPL season.
According to reports, the BCCI has instructed Kolkata Knight Riders to remove Bangladeshi player Mustafazur Rahman from the squad. This decision has been taken in view of the ongoing conflicts in Bangladesh, where the Hindu community is being put through violence and torment.
The point to be noted here is that Kolkata had acquired the services of Rahman for a massive price of ₹9.2 crore in the recent auction. But shortly, after this acquisition was made, there was a lot of criticism from the Hindu groups and Shiv Sena activists as they protested the decision to go for a Bangladeshi player in view of the ongoing conflict.
As it turns out, this big money IPL player will not be playing in the upcoming IPL season due to geo political scenario in his country.
