Elon Musk Finally Responds on Grok Controversy

Billionaire and microblogging site X owner Elon Musk has finally responded on the ongoing controversy over abuse of AI bot ‘Grok’ for making explicit content after the government of India put an ultimatum following a huge uproar on social media platforms and debate within political circles.

A day after the Ministry of Electronics and IT raised a red flag on the misuse of Grok on X platform for generation of unlawful and sexual content without the consent of individuals, Musk has warned of serious consequences against those who resort to posting inappropriate images on the platform.

Elon Musk responded affirmatively to a post on X which said “Anyone using Grok to make illegal content will suffer the same consequences as if they upload illegal content”.

The post said, “Some people are saying Grok is creating inappropriate images. But that’s like blaming a pen for writing something bad. A pen doesn’t decide what gets written. The person holding it does. Grok works the same way. What you get depends a lot on what you put in. Think about it!.”

So, it seems like Elon Musk has defended Grok’s AI service and warned users of serious consequences who misuse it for illegal means. Though the Indian government has directed the U.S.-based social media firm to submit a detailed action taken report (ATR) within 72 hours from the date when the order was issued in a strongly worded letter.

However, there is no official reply from X yet on this matter. For now, those who misuse it may likely face legal issues according to Musk.
