During the latest episode of Mann Ki Baat, PM Narendra Modi spoke about a heartbreaking yet inspiring story from Kerala.
He remembered a ten month old baby girl, Aalin Sherin Abraham, who lost her life in a tragic road accident in Pathanamthitta district. Though her life ended far too soon, her parents took a decision that moved the entire nation.
Despite their unbearable grief, they chose to donate their child’s organs. The Prime Minister said such a decision shows extraordinary courage and humanity. He noted that even in deep sorrow, the family thought about saving other lives.
The infant’s organs helped several children who were in urgent need of transplants. Doctors successfully carried out complex procedures, and the organs were transported quickly between hospitals, showing the strength of the state’s medical system.
Modi said awareness about organ donation is steadily growing in India. He added that many families are now coming forward to give others a second chance at life. The story of this young child, he said, is not just emotional but also a powerful reminder of compassion and social responsibility.
The state government also paid tribute to the family, and leaders expressed solidarity with them during this painful time. The Prime Minister concluded that such acts of kindness inspire the country and highlight the importance of organ donation.
