X Records the Highest Traffic in Its History, But…

Social media emerged as one of the most effective forms of communication for netizens. Among many platforms, X is undoubtedly the leading player when it comes to engagement when significant global issues take place as users browse their timelines to get real-time updates and developments on the latest status.  

Amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in the aftermath of airstrikes on Iran by the joint military operation of Israel and USA, X has reportedly witnessed highest user interaction on Saturday. Tesla CEO and billionaire Elon Musk, who owns the platform, has confirmed the same through his official handle. 

Musk acknowledged the record through a tweet after X product manager Nikita Bier noted that the day marked the highest traffic in the platform’s history. Before this, the highest ever X usage occurred on July 15, 2024, with 417 billion global user-seconds, as reported by Elon Musk due to the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden in the run up to the US presidential elections. 

Though the exact statistics about the engagement were not revealed, Musk’s ratification makes it clear that the platform has rewritten its own record as the last 24 hours have been full of updates and notifications over the escalating tensions between countries and the shocking death of Iran’s Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during the missile strikes. 

X is the go-to platform for users to keep abreast with the latest happenings across the world. Especially, when issues involving international matters take place, the platform gains global traction and emerge as the most reliable source for genuine and foolproof news. 

But, X is also not devoid of fake news peddlers and fear mongering.
