The ongoing for situation involving Iran and United States is starting to have global repercussions with the oil and LPG supply getting restricted already. And now this matter has reached the capital city of Hyderabad.
Through the course of the day yesterday, several petrol stations across Hyderabad displayed “no petrol” signs outside the premises. This created a panic situation amongst the public, and the naturally started to react to the same.
The petrol stations across the city, which had adequate supply of petrol were absolutely flooded with vehicles belonging to the local population.
It is being reported that the vast majority of the population opted to fill their petrol tanks in vehicles in anticipation of a fuel crisis which could come up in case the war with Iran escalates. This resulted in gross panic buying of petrol and diesel in several petrol stations across the city.
Hyderabad city Commissioner and the concerned Authority have made it clear that there is adequate supply of fuel, and there is no reason for the public to panic.
But the effect of media reports and social media posts is simply too strong as Hyderabad witnessed peak panic buying of petrol last night.
