TCS has come under severe criticism for the alleged Love J*had orchestrated by some of its employees in its Nashik Campus.
Multiple women employees (at least 8–9 victims, mostly young women aged 18–25) filed complaints alleging that certain colleagues and seniors – Sexually harassed them, Mentally pressured and coerced them, and attempted to influence or force religious conversion.
There are allegations that the company ignored the complaints and Police had to do a covert operation on the campus and expose the cartel.
Police have made some arrests and TCS had suspended all the employees facing the allegations.
People, on the social media, are after the Tata Group for turning blind eye for these things and there are also trolls taking the Corporate’s image for a severe beating. People are also pressuring the Government of India to take action on TCS.
In a dramatic turn of events, TCS had temporarily shut down its Nashik Campus and asked the employees not to report to work until further orders. There are also reports that fresh hiring in Nashik has been put on hold.
Social media users are suggesting that this could be seen as an attempt by the company to put pressure on the Government of India. TCS may be indicating that it could take stronger business decisions if any regulatory action is taken against it.
TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) is widely regarded as the largest private-sector employer in India, particularly among publicly listed companies and in the IT/services sector.
So taking action on it is not easy.
Alternate take on this campus shutdown is TCS is trying to send a message that it is seriously pursuing the case and wants to secure the workplace and avoid any possible bias in the hiring (since HRs are involved) before reopening the campus.
