The human workforce is already concerned about the kind of impact that artificial intelligence is having on the IT sector. Now TCS has made a strong comment regarding the implementation of AI models within the working sectors, and this is very bad news for the human workforce.
In his latest public communication at a conclave regarding the TCS, the President of Tata groups, N Chandrasekharan commented that TCS will be actively replacing human workers with AI agents soon.
TCS Chairman Chandrasekaran predicts that within 3 years, the company will have as many AI agents as human employees. While he ruled out layoffs, he confirmed that traditional massive IT hiring numbers will permanently slow down.
The fact that the top executive at the biggest IT company in India has projected that software hiring will slowdown permanently in future is very concerning those who see a future in tech sector.
It is very concerning to see AI actively replace the human workforce in the software industry, which has been driving the Indian job sector over the years. If this situation continues, then the human workforce within this sector could be gradually eradicated which is extremely alarming again.
On a relevant note, it must be primarily kept in mind that TCS reported a net reduction of over 23,000 employees in FY26, ending the year with a total headcount of 584,519.
