UKG Student Pranay Tej’s Death: Teacher Arrested

In a heart-rending tragic incident, a six-year-old UKG student Tammana Pranay Tej died in Visakhapatnam after he was allegedly beaten by his school teacher. The victim Pranay Tej succumbed to injuries after being beaten and harassed by teacher Sushma.

This shocking incident took place on Aug 20, Thursday. The news went viral. Now, police, after conducting thorough investigation, have arrested teacher Sushma in connection with the case. The court has sent her to 15 days of judicial remand.

Going into the details, teacher Sushma, severely punished Pranay on Aug 20 (Thursday) for not doing his homework. CCTV footage from the classroom reportedly showed the teacher scolding the boy, slapping him and trying to strip him. The boy then collapsed in front of the teacher. He died following the incident, leading to shock and anger among parents and local residents.

Education Minister Nara Lokesh had immediately responded and ordered for strict legal action against those responsible and the school management. He also assured support to the victim’s family. The District Education Officer (DEO) had immediately suspended her following the incident. AP government has formed a three-member committee with Regional Joint Director (RJD), District Educational Officer (DEO) and Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) to conduct a detailed probe.

Police have finally conducted the detailed investigation and arrested teacher Sushma. With teacher Sushma’s arrest, supporters who have been demanding justice for Pranay have breathed a sigh of relief and welcomed the development. However, this can’t bring back Pranay Tej to his family.
