Now Anthropic CEO Warns Of AI threats, Sounds Caution

With each passing day, the fear among the public regarding the potential global destruction that can be caused by the misuse of Artificial Intelligence is gradually increasing as many AI engineers and researchers are openly expressing concerns over the negative side of this growing technology.

A few days after a popular researcher named Jacob Coxon publicly warned about the perils of AI, now Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has dropped a bombshell in a blogpost.

He warned that if companies keep rushing without proper safety checks, smart AI systems could form soon take control of the entire internet within six to 12 months. He said this rapid growth is happening because AI models are now helping to build the next generation of AI systems all by themselves.

Amodei asked everyone to slow down tech development and pointed out that AI systems are advancing at an exponential speed and humans might lose total control over them very soon.

Leaving these systems unchecked could lead to cyberattacks, automated mass surveillance, and severe economic collapse around the globe, he said.

Surprisingly, other famous tech leaders quickly agreed with the dangerous warning. OpenAI head Sam Altman and billionaire Elon Musk posted on his social media that Dario is totally right about the urgent need to slow down the race.

Despite all these scary predictions, Amodei still believes AI can bring amazing life saving benefits like curing deadly diseases. But he strongly insisted that getting an extra year or two by slowing development and putting human survival above monetary benefits will be a win-win situation for both mankind and technology.
