Reports: KBR Park One Way To Become Permanent?

One of the ambitious measures taken by the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was to implement one way traffic around the usually busy KBR Park. The decision was taken last month and has since been implemented to its fullest extent.

At first, there were several concerns about the traffic movement and possible congestion in this crucial area at the heart of the city. This was a part of the elaborate plan to impose H city idea which would include seven underpasses and seven overpasses.

However, the idea to impose one way traffic was so very successful in the end that the traffic issue got resolved on its own and the authorities are now contemplating on scrapping the H city plan.

The latest developments are suggesting that the authorities are happy with the traffic movement already, and of the opinion that there is no need for more underpasses and flyovers.

So the existing 1 way system around the KBR Park would be made permanent without the need to renovate the surroundings, which was planned earlier.

The latest reports are indicating that the authority could make the decision to continue the one way system around the KBR Park a permanent one and a related order could be issued shortly.

Subsequently, this elaborate project which was estimated to cost around ₹1000 crore is put on hold indefinitely. But the final call on this will be taken by the concerned traffic Authority and also municipal development Authority shortly after.
