Wasting Water In Hyderabad? Get Ready To Pay 20,000 Fine!

Hyderabad has been facing drinking water issue for a long time now along with other metropolitan cities. So the municipal board has been imposing certain restrictions against the wastage of drinking water and we now have another addition to the list.

According to the latest reports, the Hyderabad municipal water board, inspector held and inspection across the city to identify if there is any blatant misuse of drinking water.

The inspections were conducted during water supply hours and officials also distributed leaflets explaining how much water can be wasted during routine activities within a minute.

The board said it has repeatedly urged consumers to conserve water, but some continue to wash floors and vehicles with drinking water, leave taps running and ignore overflowing overhead tanks. This can have pretty significant consequences from now on.

As the wastage continued, the Hyderabad municipal Board began imposing fines, starting at ₹1,000 and going up to ₹5,000, ₹10,000 and ₹20,000 depending on the violation.

So from now on, if anyone is found wasting drinking water in Hyderabad, they could be facing penalty of up to ₹20,000 and this has been confirmed by the authorities. This is pretty much the need of the hour as well.
