Ease of living and the performance of municipal administration decide the satisfaction levels of the public in any city. The ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs released the final rankings of the ‘Ease of Living Index’ and the ‘Municipal Performance Index’ for 2020 and it is shocking to learn that Hyderabad failed to find a spot in the top ten. The state municipal administration minister K Tarakarama Rao put a lot of effort into improving the ease of living in Hyderabad but the city is still not up to the mark.

These lists are framed for the cities above 1 million population. Overall, Hyderabad city scored 55.40 points in the ease of living index and 49.08 points in the municipal performance index.
Bengaluru, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Surat topped the list in the ease of living Index (Million+ category). Indore, Surat, Bhopal are in the top 3 of the municipal performance index.
