After the tensions raised in the Indo-China border last year, IPL management suspended the title sponsorship of Chinese smartphone maker Vivo for a year. Thus, Dream11 became the title sponsor of the league for the 2020 edition. However, Vivo is now back as the title sponsor once again.
IPL is all set to kick off on April 9. Already, the buzz has begun since the auction which was held last month. Vivo is also pretty excited to team up with IPL once again. Speaking to PTI, Vivo India Director Brand Strategy Nipun Marya said that Vivo India is excited to team up with IPL once again and added that the company is looking forward to an interesting season. He said that IPL is a perfect amalgamation of both sports and entertainment.
Marya also stated that the suspension was a mutual decision and confirmed that the contract will continue further. The alliance will continue following the old rules and regulations. IPL will be held in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Delhi this time.
