Since morning, an ad film featuring Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan has been creating a lot of unrest among his fans. The controversial ad showcases SRK endorsing popular gutka and pan masala brand Vimal. The ad film also features Bollywood star Ajay Devgn, who has been a face of Vimal for a longtime.
Upset with SRK’s decision to endorse a pan masala brand, his upset fans are trending the hashtag ‘#NotMySRK’ on social media. Fans are copy-pasting the following text in their posts: “Dear @iamsrk you are working for betterment of cancer patients since ages. How can you endorses a product which is spreading cancer. With the heavy heart all I can say is #NotMySRK.
Incidentally, Shah Rukh’s father Taj Mohammed Khan died of cancer in 1981, when the star hero was just 15. Needless to say, SRK’s die-hard fans are unable to fathom the fact that SRK could endorse a brand that allegedly leads to cancer. However, there is another version amongst a section of fans, which say that SRK is not endorsing Vimal gutka, but only Vimal Elaichi, which has Kesari (Saffron).
