Ashok Samrat, the Zonal Commissioner of GHMC said that a total of 25 people from the same residential apartment have been tested positive for COVID-19 in Madannapet area of Hyderabad.
All 25 people have been shifted to Gandhi hospital for the treatment and their contacts are being traced. One among 25 is the primary contact of a COVID-19 patient. The test has been conducted on 50 people in the apartment and 25 of them have been contracted with the novel virus.
Among 25, we have 11-month-old and a pregnant woman getting treated in the hospital. It is said that a birthday party was held inside the apartment which few people attended. The officials are also conducting screen tests in the surrounding of Madannapeta area. This is the first time the city saw a huge number of numbers at a time from single apartment.
Currently, Hyderabad has four red zones – LB Nagar, Charminar, old Malakpeta and Karwan. As per Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, there are 1509 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Telangana and 34 deaths.
