India is fighting the battle of Corona and the second wave took everyone to a big shock. The administration is struggling hard to handle the crisis and the government ruled out the option of a lockdown. On the other hand, the other countries started putting restrictions on the people traveling from India. After Italy, UK, Germany, and Bangladesh, Maldives also joined the list of countries to suspend the tourists from India. The Maldives has become the one-stop destination for all those who wanted to travel post-lockdown. Celebrities from Bollywood, Tollywood, and other industries rushed to the country on sponsored trips. A lot of common people also toured the country recently.
With the rise in Corona cases in India, the Ministry of Tourism in the Maldives decided to put control on the incoming tourists. Earlier, the country allowed tourists from India with strict quarantine guidelines but now, the country suspended the inflow of tourists.
The country’s Ministry of Tourism confirmed the same via their Twitter official handle. “With effect from 27 April, @HPA_mv suspends tourists travelling from #India to #Maldives from staying at tourist facilities in inhabited islands. We thank you for the support in our endeavour to make tourism safest possible with minimum inconvenience.” tweeted the ministry.
As soon as the news broke out, the netizens trolled the Bollywood celebrities. Janhvi Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Disha Patani, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Samantha, and many others went on a vacation to the Maldives.
