‘No Jeans, Casual Clothes On Duty’; CBI Orders Employees

CBI Director Subodh Kumar Jaiswal issues dress code for employees stating that all officers and staffers of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are ought to dress formally on duty. The rules pulled in that casual clothing such as jeans and sports shoes are barred and will not be tolerated.

As per the latest dress code rules, men are allowed to don formal shirts and pants, paired with formal shoes. Also, they will be required to come to the office clean shaved.

On the other hand, women employees are allowed to wear sarees or formal shirts and trousers. Both men and women are barred from wearing jeans, T-shirts, sneakers/regular footwear, and casual attire. This set of new rules are mandated to all CBI offices across the country. Also, the head of each branch is asked to ensure all the employees adhere to the guidelines.

One of the prominent CBI officers, who chose to stay anonymous said that it is important for employees to wear proper formal clothing. “But form the past few years we have seen employees wearing casuals and jeans, yet no one questioned them”.

The 1985 batch IPS officer and former Director-General of Police, Subhodh Kumar Jaiswal took over as the agency’s 33rd director last week who is now focussed to make a bunch of vital administrative changes in order to improve the CBI’s efficiency.
