Booking a slot for Covid-19 vaccine on Cowin and Aarogya Sethu apps is a tiresome process. With less availability of vaccines, the slots are getting booked within minutes and still many are finding it extremely difficult to book a vaccine slot. During the initial days, the Cowin website and app crashed due to the heavy flow. To ease the pressure on Cowin and Aarogya Sethu apps, the government of India has approved vaccination through PayTm and MakeMyTrip.
A few weeks back Centre released new guidelines for the integration of CoWIN with third-party applications and accordingly 145 organisations have applied with the Union Health Authority to roll out vaccination. About 91 applicants were approved and among them are 81 private and 10 government entities.
Apollo Hospitals, ICICI Lombard, Max Healthcare, Dr. Reddy’s, Infosys, Shivam E-Commerce, Synergic Info are some of the entities that received approvals. PayTm on Monday announced that users can book a slot for vaccines seamlessly. “Paytm users can now search, discover & also book their vaccination slots for both Covaxin and Covishield at the nearest centre through the Paytm app,” said the company in a statement.
Meanwhile India has administered 26,19,72,014 vaccines so far and in the last 24 hours, 28,00,458 people took the vaccine jab. India’s daily positivity rate stands at 3.22 percent while recovery rate has increased to 95.80 per cent.
