Paava Kadhaigal’s teaser released by Netflix shows us glimpses of four different intense stories. It is Netflix India’s first Tamil anthology film directed by four talented directors, Gautam Menon, Sudha Kongara, Vetri Maaran, and Vignesh Shivan.
The star cast consists of all the super talented Sai Pallavi, Prakash Raj, Anjali, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Hari, Kalidas Jayaram, Kalki Koechlin, Padam Kumar, Shantanu Bhagyaraj, and Simran, amongst others.
The stories as revealed by Gautam Menon in his statement, revolve around the love, pride, and honor influence complex relationships. “Paava Kadhaigal is my first collaboration with Sudha Vetri and Vignesh to explore a complex, difficult theme in an authentic and honest manner alongside incredibly talented directors is a tremendous opportunity. The anthology reflects how pride, honor and social standing continue to influence individual choices all around us.”, he said.
Sudha Kongara says each story in the anthology unravels unconventional, unfettered, and unconditional love. Vetrimaaran said he enjoyed making this anthology as he was able to focus on storytelling that he always wanted to.
Vignesh Shivan said it is an incredible opportunity to be able to tell a story to a diverse audience alongside three respected directors who believe in your story as much as you do. Vignesh further reveals that this anthology also explores the dark, often paining side of human relationships and other postponing thoughts that they could not speak out.
