Like Tollywood, Bollywood too weighs on horror comedy genre every now and then. ‘Roohi’ starring Janhvi Kapoor Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma is the new film in this genre and the trailer is out.
Opens to showing a beautiful dressed up as bride, she walks in a mahal sort off. But the voice in the background say that the beautiful women is a witch and eyes newly married couple. The trailer immediately shifts to showing Janhvi getting kidnapped by two people Rajkummar and Varun.
Janhvi is taken into an isolated place but the trouble starts here. Janhvi gets obsessed by the witch and the trailer turns into a fun element. Rajkummar and Varun indulge in some comedy scenes. They take Janhvi to a Muslim man known for taking out the ghost within and then a Hindu priest who deals with ghosts. But none work.
What is the motto of the witch and will Janhvi get rid of the spirit in it, forms ‘Roohi.’ Janhvi is proving that she is a worthy actress and she really scares us in few scenes while Rajkummar and Varun are at their usual best. The trailer has an aged plot but the treatment is new and overall it’s entertaining.
‘Roohi’ is directed by Hardik Mehta and is releasing in theatres on March 11th.
