Amid rising tensions in West Asia, Mohammad Fathali, Iran Ambassador In India, reportedly said India remains a trusted partner for Iran. He assured that Indian ships would be allowed safe passage through the vital Strait of Hormuz despite the ongoing conflict in the region.
The ambassador said Iran values its relationship with India and would ensure that Indian interests are protected. His remarks come as global concerns grow over possible disruptions to shipping in the oil rich waterway due to the escalating tensions involving United States and Israel.
Iranian representatives also clarified that the Strait has not been officially closed, though the conflict has created operational difficulties for commercial vessels passing through the region.
