US President Donald Trump has announced that the United States will pause planned military strikes on Iran, saying the decision was taken “for the future of the world.”
Trump said there has been positive progress in talks to reduce tensions in the Middle East. According to him, efforts are underway to reach a peace agreement, and the US is giving diplomacy another chance instead of launching fresh attacks.
He also said the discussions include important issues like Iran’s nuclear program and safe movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump expressed hope that the ongoing talks could help avoid a bigger conflict in the region.
The announcement comes after weeks of rising tensions between the US, Iran and Israel. The situation had raised fears of another major war and also affected global oil prices.
Although Trump sounded confident about a peaceful outcome, Iran has not officially confirmed that any final agreement has been reached.
For now, military action has been put on hold, with the world watching to see whether the latest peace efforts can prevent another round of fighting.
