Even though the theatres have opened in most of the regions across India, some of the big films are still skeptical to go for a theatrical release and are opting for a direct digital release. Some others are forced to go for a direct OTT release due to pre-signed agreements.
The latest biggie to join the list of direct OTT releases is Kathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal. Directed by Vignesh Shivan, this romantic comedy features Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha in the lead roles.
As per the latest buzz, Disney+Hotstar bought the exclusive rights to this movie. Apparently, this flick will premiere on November 4, on the eve of Diwali.
An official announcement with the first look poster is expected to be out soon. After the likes of Ka. Pae. Ranasingam, Thughlaq Darbar and Annabelle Sethupathi, Kathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal will be another direct digital release for Vijay Sethupathi.
Meanwhile, it will be the first direct OTT release for the star heroine Samantha. On the flip side, Nayanthara already had two OTT releases in the form of Mookuthi Amman and Netrikann.
Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music of Kathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal. Vijay Kartik Kannan and A. Sreekar Prasad handled the cinematography and editing respectively.
