Gopichand In A Web Series?

It’s OTT time. Web series are hogging all the limelight. The likes of Madhavan and several Bollywood biggies are already doing web series. This trend has also caught up in the South. None other than Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be seen in the Family Man season 2. So, many other Tollywood celebs are also mulling over to join the bandwagon.

The latest we hear is that hero Gopichand has been approached for an upcoming web series. The web series would be helmed by director Pradeep Chilukuri, of Raja Cheyyi Vesthe fame. Pradeep’s debut directorial with Nara Rohit didn’t fare well at the BO. Now, Pradeep has got the opportunity to direct the web series for an OTT platform. This web series is being produced by AK Entertainments. Buzz is that Gopichand is also positive and likely to give his go ahead for the series.

Due to Covid pandemic, the movie industry is in big crisis. One is not sure when the market revives and when the theatrical business would open up. Even if the theatres are opened, new norms of physical distance and walk-ins are predicted to make it tougher. Amidst this, several production houses, filmmakers and actors are looking at OTTs and web series as alternative option. If Gopichand does the web series, it’s going to be big as he would become the first known hero in Tollywood to take up the challenge.
