The untimely demise of Telugu legendary lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry saddened the Telugu community all over the globe. Celebrities, politicians and music lovers who have been huge fan of Sirivennela over the years mourned his passing away.

“He walked towards the gates of heaven like a walking star. He gave us literature as a gift. Friend … will miss you FOREVER!,” tweeted Megastar Chiranjeevi.

Further Chiru said, “About six days I learned that Sirivennela was ill and so dialled him. We spoke for about 20 minutes and I recommended him to get admitted to a hospital in Chennai. Never thought he would not return from the hospital.”

On Sirivennela’s contributions, Chiru added that after late lyricist Veturi, Sirivennela has a great command on Telugu language and literature. There is a hidden power in Sirivennela’s words and that’s his character too. For his work, he received many awards and rewards and in 2019, he was honoured with Padma Shri by government of India.

AP CM YS Jagan took to his Twitter and added that Sirivennela will remain in the hearts of Telugu people but his presence leaves a void. TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock over Sirivennela’s death and remarked that it’s a great loss to the Telugu literature and its community.

Young Tiger Jr NTR tweeted that he was dejected learning about Sirivennela’s passing away. “Sirivennela’s pen might have stopped but his words remain as long as the Telugu language exists. I wholeheartedly pray to the God for his soul to rest in peace,” tweeted Tarak.
