Long back, in 2003, the then top politician Vilasrao Deshmukh’s son Riteish debuted as a hero with the Hindi movie “Tujhe Meri Kasam”, which happens to be the remake of Telugu super hit film Nuvve Kavali. The actor later married his first co-star Genelia.
Riteish acted for nearly two decades, but he’s now switching sides as he planned to become a director from a time. Riteish debut directorial will be a Marathi movie titled, “Ved”, which means madness, and features himself along with wife Genelia and actress Jia Shankar as the main leads.
So many Telugu heroes like Raviteja, Nani and Raj Tarun have come to the industry to become directors but accidentally became heroes, and then they are not interested to direct at this point of time. And it looks like they will find some inspiration from Ritesh Deshmukh now to turn to direction.
With the likes of Chiranjeevi never attempting direction and Balayya failing to create any magic with direction, maybe Telugu heroes are not taking such chances.
