Siddharth’s Tweet On Saina Nehwal Misfired; NCW Sought Action

Actor Siddharth is always vocal about many issues pertaining to the film industry or the nation, in general. He recently shared strong and sharp views about the stand of the AP government with respect to the ticket prices. Now, he is in trouble for his recent tweet, which is a ‘sexual innuendo’ response to the Badminton champion Saina Nehwal’s tweet about PM Modi.

After Modi faced a security threat during his visit to Punjab, Saina wrote, “No Nation can claim itself to be safe if the security of its own PM gets compromised. I condemn, in the strongest words possible, the cowardly attack on PM Modi by anarchists.”

Quoting Saina’s tweet, Siddharth wrote, “Subtle cock champion of the world… Thank God we have protectors of India. Shame on you #Rihanna.”

Many celebrities who worked with Siddharth raised objections on his comment. The National Commission for Women (NCW) also sent a notice to Twitter asking them to immediately block the actor’s account for his ‘misogynist and outrageous’ comment.

Chinmayi, Khushbhoo, Saina Nehwal’s fans and a lot of BJP supporters too took a dig at the response of Siddharth to Saina.

A while ago, Siddharth wrote, “‘COCK & BULL’ That’s the reference. Reading otherwise is unfair and leading! Nothing disrespectful was intended, said or insinuated. Period.”
