After a gap of more than three years, Ajith came up with his new film Valimai. Directed by H. Vinoth, there were huge expectations for this movie.
Being very confident in its success, producer Boney Kapoor released it in Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada along with the original Tamil version.
Though it got huge openings in Tamil Nadu, the other versions of the movie failed to open big at the box office. Even the Tamil version got a lukewarm response from the audience. Many people felt that the film was too long.
After receiving this response from the audience, the makers have decided to trim the duration of the movie. As of now, the Tamil version has been cut short by 12 minutes and the Hindi version has been trimmed by 15 minutes.
It is also reported that the makers chopped off the Naanga Vera Maari song from the Hindi version. That makes the film getting cut short by more than 18 minutes.
Even after trimming the duration, Valimai’s other language versions are failing to grab the attention of audiences. Thus, it is a wasted move by the makers to release the movie in multiple languages. Though it may end up as an average venture in Tamil Nadu, Valimai became a disaster in rest of the languages.
