Despite the fact that KGF2 is literally smashing all the records and made Kannadam cinema proud as director Prashanth Neel literally took it to the whole of India right now, the director is facing huge criticism from the home turf. This is because of his frequent referring of names like Mahesh Babu and Jr NTR. And here is what the director has to say about this.
When quizzed about why he is leaving the Kannada industry that gave him his name and fame, but teaming up with Telugu superstars, and if he is doing that for money, director Prashanth Neel gave an amazing reply. “First of all, I’m proud for taking Kannada cinema to next level and KGF becoming the torchbearer kind of film. But then, I’m admiring Mahesh Babu and NTR, because they are the ones to first call me after KGF’s success”, he said.
Prashant then articulated, “Mahesh invited me for a talk, only to appreciate my film KGF. That’s it. They don’t ask you to make a movie with them. They will just meet and see if the chemistry with the director is working out. I liked that kind of culture over there in the Telugu industry. They will just set up meets, but will never ask you for a film”. He then went on to say, “I didn’t leave the Kannada industry for the big money Telugu Industry is offering me, but I like the relationships the big heroes maintain. Their culture is entirely different”.
Going by the way Prashant is admiring Mahesh, it looks like after Prabhas’s Salaar and NTR’s film, the director might pick up Mahesh as well if not Ram Charan.
