Veteran actor, popular writer Raavi Kondala Rao, who acted in over 600 feature films in a career spanning over six decades, has passed away. He was 88. According to reports, he died of cardiac arrest. He breathed his last at a private hospital in Begumpet where he was being treated.
Apparently, Rao had been suffering from age-related ailments for a while. He was married to Radha Kumari who was also a well-known actress. Radha Kumari died in 2012 at the age of 70. Raavi Kondala Rao is survived by son RV Sashi Kumar.
Born on Feb 11, 1932 at Samarlakota, he made his acting debut in 1958 with the feature film Shobha. Rao acted in several successful Telugu films. Tene Manasulu, Ali Baba 40 Dongalu, Dasara Bullodu, Chantabbai, Ramudu Bheemudu, Pelli Pustakam, Bhairava Dweepam, Radha Gopalam are a few to name from his long filmography. He was a popular writer as well who penned several books including actor Nagaiah’s autobiography.
