Rs 270 Crore Property: Sivaji’s Daughters Vs Sons!

A major property dispute is brewing in the family of Kollywood veteran actor Sivaji Ganesan. Sivaji Ganesan’s children take legal route over property sharing as daughters accuse their brothers of cheating. Sivaji Ganesan has four children – two sons Prabhu, Ramkumar and two daughters Shanti, Rajvi. Several iconic properties were in the name of Sivaji Ganesan. The inheritance battle is on between children. Shanti and Rajvi have filed a civil suit in Madras High Court against brothers actor Prabhu and producer Ramkumar of cheating them of rightful inheritance.

Shanti Narayanaswamy and Rajvi Govindarajan have accused their brothers of “illegal sale” and “misappropriation” of their parents properties. Raising Hindu Succession Act, both the daughters have claimed equal stake in all the properties. As per daughters, all four children are entitled for one-fourth of share on all properties. The daughters alleged that 8kg gold, 500 kg silver ornaments were illegally possessed by Prabhu, Ramkumar. The daughters accused brothers of illegally taking their share worth Rs 82 Crore in iconic Shanthi theatre. Daughters alleged that Sivaji Ganesan’s property will is “fake” and alleged that the brothers took signatures of their father on the General Power of Attorney. Sivaji’s daughters named Prabhu Ganesan, his son-actor Vikram Prabhu, producer Ramkumar and his son-actor Dushyant Ramkumar as defendants.

While Sivaji Ganesan passed away in 2001, his wife Kamala died in 2007. Sivaji Ganesan was a superstar who acted in over 300 films in several languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. Nearly two decades after Sivaji’s death, daughters took inheritance battle and moved the Madras High Court.
