Kangana As Indira Gandhi In Emergency

Of late, it looks like Kangana Ranaut is focusing more on real-life dramas. After the likes of Manikarnika and Thalaivi, she is now coming up with yet another real-life drama. This time it is about India during the emergency under the tenure of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Titled Emergency, the film was announced today. Kangana essays the role of Indira Gandhi in this movie. Apart from acting, she is also writing, directing and producing the project. This is her second directorial venture, after Manikarnika. The announcement teaser was also unveiled this morning.

In the announcement teaser, we can see Kangana in the getup of Indira Gandhi. Going by the teaser, we can say that she has perfectly fit into the shoes of the powerful leader. She got the antics of Indira Gandhi pretty well. After watching this teaser, one would be really intrigued to watch the film.

It looks like the film deals with the situations that led Indira to declare an emergency in India and the aftermath of that decision. Renu Pitti is bankrolling the project along with Kangana. Ritesh Shah penned the screenplay and dialogues. GV Prakash Kumar is composing the music for it. More details about the project are expected to be announced in the coming days.
