Naga Chaitanya and Sekhar Kammua’s ‘Love Story’ was the film that opened the film theatres after the second wave, and it registered nearly Rs 6.8+ crores ‘share’ collection on opening day. And two films later, it looks like the Akkineni hero’s market has drastically come down. Various reasons could be attributed to the same.
Apparently “Thank You” was supposed to fetch a huge opening collection owing to the fact that the film is produced by Dil Raju and has super talented Vikram K Kumar carving it. However, the poor content of the movie overshadowed a terrific performance from Chay as well and resulted in poor word of mouth.
On top of that, incessant rains have affected the openings badly, resulting in just Rs 1.5 crore collection on Day One of the release. That’s a drastic drop considering the fact that Chay’s opening capacity is badly affected. Wonder why?
Audiences have changed big time post the pandemic due to the advent of OTT platforms and better entertaining content that they are not getting on the big screen. Perhaps that is the reason there is no scope for average movies these days as people want to catch them on OTT but not in theatres. Well, this should be a wake-up call for all the minimum guarantee heroes also.
