Dosa King: The Crime Thriller Based On ‘Saravana Bhavan’ Founder

Suriya’s Jai Bhim emerged as a sensation and the director TJ Gnanavel earned so many accolades for the movie. TJ Gnanavel is coming up with yet another sensational film ‘Dosa King’.

Dosa King is all set to be made in Hindi and it is a crime thriller based on a real-life story. Dosa King is all about the Saravana Bhavan founder P Rajagopal aka Dosa King and a woman named Jeevajothi Santhakumar who waged a legal battle against the former.

Rajagopal is allegedly known for his strong beliefs in superstitions and astronomy. He wanted to marry Jeevjyothi, the daughter of one of his employees and she rejected his proposal as she was already married to one Prince Santhakumar. Rajagopal has gone for a plan to eliminate Prince Santhakumar. In 2001, Prince Santhakumar was murdered and his body was found in Kodaikanal.

A sessions court had convicted Rajagopal and four others to ten years of imprisonment, but later the Madras High Court increased the jail term to a life sentence. In July 2019, Rajagopal passed away due to a cardiac arrest. The legal battle between Jeevajyothi and Rajagopal will be shown on the screen with ‘Dosa King.’

Gnanavel said he had observed the subject closely, following the case during his days as journalist. He said he hopes to bring out new dimensions through Jeevajyothi’s legal battle on screen.
