Veteran actor Krishna, who passed away due to cardiac arrest and multi-organ failure yesterday, was cremated with full state honours. The people gave a teary send-off to their beloved superstar. After keeping his mortal remains for public viewing at Padmalaya studios, his remains were taken as a procession till Maha Prasthanam where the last rites were performed. People came out in large numbers and voluntarily participated in the procession.
AP CM YS Jagan, TDP MLA and actor Nandamuri Balakrishna were among many who paid last respects to the late superstar. CM Jagan hugged and consoled Mahesh Babu. He also interacted with other family members and asked them to be strong in these tough times.
Krishna was a pioneer and considered one among the four pillars of the Telugu film industry. The void created due to his loss is irreplaceable. The Telugu Film Chamber and Movie Artistes Association have declared a mourning holiday as a mark of honour to Krishna for his vast service and contribution to the film industry.
