I’m South Indian, I Belong Here: Janhvi Kapoor

“I’m a South Indian. I think I relate and resonate more deeply with my heritage. It’s a big part of who I’m. Unintentionally or intentionally, it comes out. I’d feel like I belong to the South culture more,” said Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor, the daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor.

Earlier, Janhvi revealed that she would tie the knot in a traditional fashion in Tirumala with divine blessings. She had divulged her connection with the Temple town.

Janhvi was in Hyderabad to walk the ramp of Blenders Pride fashion show. She stunned the onlookers with her style quotient. She wore the dresses designed by popular fashion designers Amit Aggarwal and Noor. Janhvi was caught up by some media folks and she shared her thoughts.

Talking about talking straight, frank and expressing without any filters, Janhvi said, “I just think people are tired of the people who try to put up something they are not. And even I’m tired of being like that. It is okay to say what you think even if it is wrong sometimes. I definitely don’t say what I don’t feel. I’d like to encourage such an attitude in youngsters too. I wish people would encourage this attitude in me.” Janhvi added, “It is overrated to be prim and proper. That’s not who you are. It’s better to make mistakes and learn.”

Reminiscing her mom and legendary actress Sridevi, Jahnvi said, “Momma (Sridevi) used to love dressing up all the time. For Me (Jahnvi) and Khushi Kapoor both, she is like a doll for us. We’d always tell her what to dress and how to dress up. It was fun. Every red carpet event and every film event, we used to make an exercise, discuss points.”
