Lokesh Kanagaraj is undoubtedly one of the most creative screenwriters that south cinema can boast of. Karthi starrer ‘Khaidi’ and Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vikram’ gave him a cult status across languages. But Lokesh has been dodging the question from Tollywood circles as to when he would work with Telugu stars.
It seems that fans found the answer lately. He has set his goals for at least another 10 years from now. He is currently giving touch-ups to the script that features Vijay Thalapathy and another ensemble cast. Later, he would work on ‘Khaidi 2’ for which he already received a nod from actor Karthi. The grapevine is that he would depict the life of how the lead character spent his life in Delhi before going to jail. Then, he has the mighty project ‘Vikram 2’ in the pipeline. After that, another biggie with Suriya’s Rolex character is on the cards.
All these films will require massive time to go on to the sets and finish on time to meet deadlines. So director Kanagaraj has clarified that he is occupied for another 10 years. It will be futile for Telugu actors to wait for him and work on a project. As of now there is no time for him to work with Ram Charan or any other Telugu actor.
The director has been reiterating that his first preference is always Tamil cinema. Thus he turned down many offers from Bollywood. Now it looks that Kanagaraj has set a road map to introduce “mafia world” to his audiences. And see how excited fans are seeing Suriya in the Rolex character for a few minutes. It’s unimaginable to assume the actor in a full length role along with his brother Karthi.
