Is Sympathy Wave Turning Like A Tsunami?

One of the biggest surprises in recent times is the crashing of YouTube servers as well as Bookmyshow servers and both happened due to “Pathaan” movie only. Many are wondering why is this unprecedented craze happening around this Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer at a time even the #Boycott thing is trending regarding this movie. Here is what we have to look into.

Firstly, there is this huge sympathy wave riding on the Superstar Shahrukh as he hasn’t delivered a hit film in recent times. Right from 2016, his films like Fan, Dear Zindagi, Raees, Harry Met Sejal and Zero have flopped at the box office. That’s one of the reasons that people want his upcoming “Pathaan” to become nothing less than a sensational blockbuster. And the action-packed trailer of the movie promised that a lot.

At the same time, the arrest of SRK’s son in the drugs case, later his comments getting blasted by the right-wingers have all created a sort of soft corner on the star hero.

At the same time, none expected that Deepika Padukone’s orange bikini gets trolled, but that helped the film get maximum attention. And then, people started appreciating Deepika’s glam treat as well as action stunts after the trailer was released as she looked no less than a Hollywood starlet. That created super attention for the movie.

On the other side, Bollywood has seen only flops in current times as all the big heroes have tasted one flop or the other. Except Drishyam 2, none of the big films coming from the likes of Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor really worked at the box office though some posted good numbers.

That led to an overall upliftment of the mood of the Hindi audience that they should see to an original Hindi movie that actually works at the box office. That’s why they are betting huge on Pathaan now.

For all these good reasons, the sympathy wave is working out like a tsunami in favour of Pathaan and the film might record a terrific number on the opening weekend due to this craze. Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan is hitting cinemas on January 26th.
