Michael Is A Gangster Drama With A Love Story: Ranjit

Hero Sundeep Kishan is coming up with an actioner Michael which is up for release on February 3rd. Ranjit Jeykodi directed the movie where Vijay Sethupathi will be seen in a vital role and Divyansha Kaushik is the lead actress. The director interacted with the media today.

Michael is the fourth film for Ranjit Jeyakodi. “I did my first film with Vijay Sethupathi. Later I did another film with Harish Kalyan. The third movie is also getting ready for release. ‘Michael’ is my fourth film,” informs the director.

Ranjit says Sundeep wanted to do an action film, by the time he was working on an action script. “Sundeep called to appreciate my work for my second movie. We became good friends and Sundeep during the second lockdown asked me to come up with an action script. That’s how Michael happened.”

The director affirms Michael is not completely a gangster drama. “’Michael’ doesn’t fall in one particular genre. It has romance, action, gangster drama, and we can call it a period film too. The story spans in three periods- 70s, 80s and 90s. The major story happens in the 90s. It is a gangster drama with a beautiful love story.”

Ranjit shares he has close bonding with Sundeep. “We both have a good understanding of each other. Sundeep is well aware of what I want. He has a very good understanding of the script. Working with him was a wonderful experience.”

The film is carrying positive buzz, ever since the trailer got an overwhelming response.
