Krishna Vamsi and Gunasekhar were top directors in the Telugu film industry during the late 90s and early 2000s. However, they lost their steam in the last decade and delivered a series of flops. This year, they are making a comeback after a long gap. While Krishna Vamsi kind of succeeded in his return, we have to see how Gunasekhar performs.
After a gap of more than five years, Krishna Vamsi came back with his new film Ranga Marthanda. This emotional family drama was released on March 22, on the occasion of Ugadi.
The film is being praised for its honest storytelling and stellar performances. Keeping aside the box-office result, it remained a special film in Krishna Vamsi’s career. Ranga Marthanda is an official remake of the Marathi film Natsamrat.
On the other side, Gunasekhar is making his comeback after more than seven years with his new film Shaakuntalam. This mythological drama is set for a grand release on April 14. Samantha plays the lead role in it. Gunasekhar’s last film Rudhramadevi couldn’t become a big hit as expected.
So, we have to see if Gunasekhar can bounce back with this pan-India project.
