2023 is turning out to be a glorious year for producer Dil Raju. Earlier this year, he scored a super hit with Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu (Vaarasudu in Telugu). Now, he is earning sensational profits with Balagam and Dasara.
Directed by Venu Yeldandi, Balagam was released on March 3. Dil Raju presented the movie. It featured no stars and was made on a shoestring budget. The movie ran successfully only because of superb word of mouth. The collections picked up with each passing day. But as of now, it has become a big blockbuster.
Conversely, Dil Raju bagged the Nizam rights of Nani’s Dasara. The film was released last week and had a phenomenal run at the box office. Especially the movie is generating big numbers in Nizam. It crossed the break-even mark in just three days of its release. Dil Raju is enjoying the profits already.
As there are multiple holidays this week (April 5 – Babu Jagjeevanram Jayanthi, April 7 – Good Friday), we expect Dasara to register big numbers in the next few days. So, it will become a gold mine for Raju by the end of its theatrical run.
Dil Raju’s next release will be Shaakuntalam. He presented this Samantha-starrer mythological drama. We must also see if he continues his success momentum with this movie.
