Already there are reports everywhere that the ‘digital streaming’ rights of Superstar Prabhas and Prashant Neel’s upcoming film “Salaar” are fetching nearly ₹200 crores for the producers. Well, that figure couldn’t be confirmed yet, but then, the exclusive talk is that actually, the rights are yet to be sold, as two big OTT giants are competing for the same.
As Amazon’s Prime Video acquired the rights to both KGF and KGF2, the big streaming company wants to grab the rights to Prabhas’ Salaar as well for sure. This OTT giant is ahead of everyone in the race, but suddenly, Netflix is also said to have jumped into the race to own the rights. This giant is ready to offer almost 20-30% more than what Amazon will offer for Salaar rights. If we have to say, this film of Prabhas and Prashanth Neel is likely to get table profits (or close to spent costs) from the digital streaming and satellite rights alone.
With Salaar set for September release in 2023 itself, surely the competition to grab the satellite, digital and theatrical rights of the movie across the nation are quite high. Though Prabhas has Aadipurush in the middle, surely Salaar is the one that is carrying the most expectations due to the KGFverse connection and Prashanth Neel factor.
