The Kerala Story

Last year, a small film named The Kashmir Files created havoc at the box office. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, this movie was based on the Kashmiri Exodus that happened in the early 90s. Even though many people claimed it was an anti-Islam propaganda film backed by the BJP, The Kashmir Files received a sensational response from the audience and collected a gross of more than 300 crores in its total run.

Now, another such film is having a dream run in theatres. We are talking about the Kerala Story which was released yesterday. The film showcases girls of other religions getting trapped by Islamic people to get converted to Islam. Later, they were sent to Islamic nations to get trained in terrorism activities.

Right from the trailer’s release, many people opposed the idea of this movie and called it a propaganda film. However, the controversies helped the Kerala Story get huge hype as it opened big at the box office. As per Bollywood reports, this movie collected Rs. 7.50 crores on the first day, which is huge as it featured no stars. The collections are expected to improve during the weekend. Even in Hyderabad, the film is reporting housefuls in many multiplexes.

Directed by Sudipto Sen, The Kerala Story features Adah Sharma in the lead role. Vipul Amrutlal Shah has produced the project.
